This document describes approaches, steps and procedures to assist in assessing the earthquake performance of existing buildings of various material types and configurations, notably reinforced concrete, steel, timber and unreinforced masonry. The basic aim of this document is to provide a set of guidelines that are helpful to Territorial Authorities, consultants and buildings owners, and that can be applied consistently to assess the earthquake performance of a building.
